The Department of History invites applications for a 10-month limited contract position in the second stream (Teaching component) as a Teaching Officer starting September 1 2018, non-renewable.

 

Candidates must have a doctorate or be in the process of completion (thesis defended before 1 September 2018) in Classical Studies or History with a specialization in Ancient History (history of Greece and / or Ancient Rome). Candidates must be bilingual (French-English) and able to teach in both languages in a pluricultural context.

 

The successful candidate must demonstrate excellence, demonstrate promising teaching skills and be able to apply innovative teaching methods. The normal teaching load for this 10-month position in the second stream is equivalent to 3.0 full courses at the undergraduate level. Given the institution's bilingual mandate, the successful candidate must participate in community services in both English and French.
