The Department of Philosophy and the Department of Theology occupies the earliest possible date in the Department of Ancient World and Asian Cultures at the Institute for Languages and Cultures of the Middle East and East Asia

 

W3- (Heisenberg) professorship for the history of the arts and culture of China

 

In temporary employment. A conversion to an indefinite W3 professorship is possible after a positive interim evaluation after three years.

 

The tasks are to represent the subject area appropriately in research and teaching, as well as the participation in all courses in which the Sinology is involved. Excellent knowledge of modern and pre-modern Chinese, as well as a proven expertise in the investigation of the cultural space of China from a cultural and intellectual history perspective, are required, for example in the area of the exchange of knowledge and cultural translation between China and the West.

 

An engagement in the research fields of the Käte Hamburg College for Humanistic Research "Fate, Freedom and Prognosis. Coping strategies in East Asia and Europe "( www.ikgf.fau.de ) as well as the willingness to actively participate in larger research groups of the FAU are expected.

 

The Professorship is to be established within the framework of the Heisenberg Program of the German Research Foundation (DFG). A prerequisite for the establishment of the professorship and the call distribution is that a grant application submitted by DFG at the end of the university-internal procedure at DFG is positively awarded to a Heisenberg professorship.

 

The FAU has the right to appeal. The civil service requirements for appointment are governed by Art. 10 BayHSchPG.

 

The FAU expects participation in the academic self-administration, the commitment to the acquisition of third-party funding and a high presence at the university to the intensive care of the students.
