This post is part of an expansion in the Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute (HCRI) is designed to reinforce existing strengths in the field of Humanitarian Studies, is intended to make a significant contribution to research and teaching capacity in this area. This senior lectureship is a permanent teaching and research position, and will conduct rigorous, in-depth research and analysis on the impact and outcomes of contemporary and historical humanitarian action. You are expected to provide course development for new and existing postgraduate taught and undergraduate programmes within HCRI. You are expected to provide high quality teaching in the Institute, where the curriculum emphasises research-informed teaching. You will be asked to design additional modules around their research interests.

 

We are particularly interested in applicants who adopt an anthropological, ethnographic, or medical-anthropological lens to humanitarian action, or whose research interests can engage with and span the Institute’s range of health, disaster management and conflict response in the context of humanitarian action. Senior Lectureship applicants must have a relevant PhD and proven track record of high quality publications, excellent teaching, evidence of academic leadership, a track record of obtaining research grant income, and supervision of doctoral students as well as experience of administration/ management. Also experience in informing policy development and NGO engagement would be a desirable.
