NYU Abu Dhabi is currently inviting applications for a full time open-rank tenure track multi-year position in Digital Humanities to begin teaching in Fall 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter.

 

Areas of expertise in digital media and cyber culture should include social and other media, multimedia platforms, data preservation, development and program building, digital humanities tools and methods, quantitative, geospatial and qualitative data projects and digital publishing. The successful candidate will teach courses in these areas as well as work with faculty and students in the arts and humanities in developing and designing individual or group digital projects within a broad range of scholarly subjects The candidate will collaborate with the Library’s Center for Digital Scholarship on programming efforts and digital humanities community building initiatives at NYUAD and beyond. The candidate will be expected to run the Arts and Humanities Digital Knowledge Lab and to work with other research projects in the university relating to digitization. Knowledge of French and Arabic will be required.

 

We seek candidates with expertise in a range of industry-standard applications and languages, the ability to stay abreast of developments in these fast-changing areas, as well as the desire to work with specialists across the disciplines. The successful candidate will be able to offer evidence of successful collaborations of this kind with a view to developing new research initiatives in collaboration with faculty across the university, NYU NY Digital Humanities, the New York University global network, and in the UAE region.
