Department of Education (IPED) was established in 1938 and is one of three departments at the Faculty of Education. The research builds on the traditions of both the social sciences and humanities and institute safeguards therefore cover a broad spectrum. IPED has approximately 100 people among about 49 permanent academic staff, ca. 35 candidates and ca. 16 technical / administrative staff. The department has about 900 students.

At the Department of Education, Faculty of Education is a research fellow position within the research TextDIM - Text comprehension - development, training and multiple texts.

 

The research TextDIM study oral language and communication in relation to reading and literacy in both minority and majority language children at different ages. Current projects within the research has focused on short- and long-term effects of the effort to promote the development of oral language skills in pre-school age, as well as the understanding and development of critical reading and learning for students in high school. Qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-methods approaches used in this research. Applicants must write a project that is well rooted within one of the research group projects. Some of TextDIM projects may require expertise in a Scandinavian språk.Vi are interested in a highly motivated and competent candidate who can and will actively participate in the institute and the research group research community. More information about TextDIM research areas and projects can be found on the research group's website: TextDIM

 

Research fellowships are time-limited training positions whose purpose is that the candidate must obtain a doctorate (PhD) in the period of appointment. A precondition for addition is that the candidate is taken up on the faculty Phd program and applicants therefore will also be assessed in terms. formal and other qualifications for such recording. Research fellowships are defined as recruitment positions and is an important instrument in the sector's efforts to provide qualified applicants to other academic positions at universities and colleges in the long term. Grantee presumed to participate actively in the organized research program and faculty research.

 

The appointment is for a period of up to 4 years, with 25% constitutes duty work, such as in the form of teaching tasks.

Applicants must satisfy the requirements for admission to the faculty's PhD program. This normally includes:

 

  • A successfully completed education at the master's level, or equivalent postgraduate education in the relevant field of study or other sufficient relevant field.
  • Minimum grade B or equivalent master degree (ECTS scale).

  • The quality of the project description
  • Project description according to one of the research group projects
  • The applicants' academic and personal qualifications to carry out the research training
  • Personal suitability and motivation for the position
  • Ability to work both nationally and internationally
  • It is also expected good language skills in English.
  • It may be a prerequisite to a Scandinavian language
