SSOC0045 - Professor and Associate Dean International
School of Social Sciences
A defining feature of this Professorial appointment is the role of Associate Dean International (ADI). The ADI is responsible for managing the School’s international strategy and providing leadership in relation to international student recruitment, developing global partnerships, internationalising research and knowledge exchange, and ensuring the wider international relevance of our teaching programmes including transnational education. The Professorial appointment is open-ended and the ADI role is on a fixed-term (renewable) basis for three years. The ADI role has been allocated at 60% in terms of workload, inclusive of a significant amount of international travel, with the remainder of the time allocated to research and some inspirational teaching as agreed with the appointee and in line with School’s priorities. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in successful interdisciplinary collaboration.
The ADI is a vital member of the School Executive, requiring a strategic thinker with the leadership qualities to extend the global reach of our teaching programmes and realise the full-benefits of internationalising the student body. Having extensive international experience and networks is vital and the ability to speak two or more languages desirable. We require an innovator who can lead change and work effectively across teams.
