JOB DESCRIPTION: The University Writing Program (UWP) at the University of Florida, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, invites applications for the position of Lecturer beginning in Fall (August), 2017. The position is a nine-month, non-tenure accruing appointment with the possibility of renewal and an opportunity for advancement in UF's lecturer track. The UWP is a thriving program offering a wide range of writing-intensive courses in areas such as themed critical thinking and writing, writing in the disciplines, and professional writing. The teaching assignment is 4/3 with possible course release in second and subsequent years for course development and service.
ADVERTISED SALARY: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience and includes a full benefits package.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A Ph.D. in English or related field is required. Experience in teaching professional or discipline-specific writing courses, such as writing in medicine, social sciences, or law, and a documented record of excellent teaching, are required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D. in English or related field is required, with a Rhetoric and Composition emphasis being preferred.
