At the Technical University of Munich (TUM), the position as associate professor for "school and teaching research" in grades W3 to the winter term 2017/18 with reduced teaching duties, is to be filled for a limited period of five years. The professorship is funded from the Foundation for International Comparative Studies (ZIB).
The TUM School of Education is one of the most innovative institutions for teacher training and education research in Germany. We offer bachelor's and master's degree courses, especially for the lehramtsausbildung. We work in cooperation with almost all faculties of the Technical University of Munich and draw on a close network with numerous schools in the Munich area. The tasks include research and teaching as well as support and support for young scientists. We are looking for an expert in the research area school and teaching research. One of the tasks in teaching is participation in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs at TUM. The tasks also include the coordination of research syntheses in the field of education research.
We are looking for a personality with a research experience that has demonstrated outstanding achievements in research and teaching at the highest international level. A completed university degree, an above-average doctorate or a comparable special qualification in scientific work (eg psychology, pedagogy or educational research), special pedagogical aptitude, including the ability to teach in English, are also a prerequisite. International research experience is expected.
Experience in the execution, evaluation and documentation of large-scale assessments is desirable. Active participation in the preparation and evaluation of ongoing international comparative studies (PISA) is expected.
